How to choose the right version

Quick method to know which scanlate version of a manga to choose:

• Always go for fan translations. These usually include translator's notes (TN), preserve Japanese terms and onomatopoeias (SFX) in original katakana, and often have a team banner or watermark at the beginning or end of each chapter.
• RUN AWAY from scans by official publishers who bought translation rights. These commit the crime of fraud (or under the term of "localization") censoring both text and visuals. They're easy to spot: basically the opposite of fan scanlates, they have rating labels, reading direction warnings, and logos (like VIZ).

NOW PAY CLOSE ATTENTION:

Some so-called "fan" translations of newer or colored versions are actually based on official publisher translations, which means they're already censored.

To confirm that a version is a legitimate uncensored translation from the original Japanese RAW, compare it with a known official version. If you find clear differences, you're safe.
